The 2008 event is now concluded. Congratulations to the overall winners and new State Olympic Distance Champions Gavin Scott and Melissa Vandewater and runners up Boyd Conrick, Mitch Dean and Regina Wright and Caroline Cooksley. These competitors shared $3600 in prize money. That means there will be the Newcastle Olympic Distance event at 6.30am, then the Diehards 500/25/6, then the Solo 500/15/4 and then Teams 500/15/4. This event already attracts 1300 competitors and will become one of the biggest tri events in NSW. We hope you can make it on 21 March to Newcastle. For those who are disappointed that the event will no longer be a stand alone event, we trust you can understand that closing the main Foreshore and two popular beaches and a park for less than 200 competitors is no longer viable.
