Swim Event Cancelled

It is with regret that this event has been cancelled due to the very low number of entries received so far. While we were optimistic that the event would generate sufficient interest, this has not been forthcoming. It is not fair to the other Harbour stakeholders and users to close a large section of Newcastle Harbour on a Saturday afternoon for a very small swim event. Not to mention the requirement and cost for a large water safety and land crew. 

Existing entries will be refunded in full. We will be in contact with these poeple.

If you are still wanting to do a swim race on the weekend of 22/23 Nov, then you may wish to consider the Baths to Bar run by Cooks Hill Surf Club being held on 23 Nov. Go to www.oceanswims.com for more info.

There will also be a Harbour Swim run on 26 Jan 2009. This event is run by Stockton Surf Club. Also go to www.oceanswims.com for information.

H Events in conjunction with the Sparke Helmore NBN Triathlon Festival will be running another Harbour Swim on 14 March 2009 from Queens Wharf to Horseshoe Beach. This event will be part of one of the biggest MultiSport events in NSW and will include a Swim and Junior Triathlon on the Saturday and a major 3 race senior triathlon on the Sunday.
